Okay- I have to start with the young man at the counter taking our order was not friendly at all. Also not helpful when making a decision. It almost made me want to go somewhere else. Regardless, we ordered a fatoosh salad with schwarma chicken and a schwarma chicken bowl. Both were fantastic. Although the salad had a little too much dressing on it. The salad also had fried pita bits in it. I do like how Bucharest offers side of pita with garlic spread. So docked some points for that. Overall, food 9/10 and customer service 5/10.
I have been in the Detroit Metropolitan area for a long time and I can say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is the best Middle Eastern food I have had in years. The quality of the food, the speed of service, the variety of choices, the prices, the professionalism of the staff are all top notch. I love that this is just a small carry out kind of restaurant and that it is so close to my house. Usually, you can only get this level of quality in Dearborn so I am thrilled that this location is in the heart of Royal Oak. The hummus and chicken swarma are excellent - I highly recommend both. I normally get the chicken swarma dinner entree which comes with salad, rice, sides and some amazing garlic sauce (more than enough for 2 people - or just one if you like leftovers). Seriously, try this place, you will NOT be disappointed at all!
I love their food. The presentation is fabulous. The service is very good and the ambience is typical of a walking carryout place. It's nice to try it if you haven't.
